  • Co-organized Pathways to Energy Efficiency Workshop (Nov 2011)
  • Organized Green Infrastructure: Doing the Math" (October 2011)
  • Kicked off the "Get Your Green On" logo design contest for Lucas County high school students (October 2011)
  • Co-organized Sustainable Procurement II Forum (July 2011)
  • Revising Energy and Greenhouse Gas study with more data (Feb-Apr 2011)
  • Co-organized the Sustainability Procurement Forum (80 attendees) (Jan 2011)
  • Presented at BioPreferred/Sustainable Purchasing webinar on December 15th (41 registrants) (Dec 2010)
  • Presented at BioPreferred/Sustainable Purchasing webinar on November 18th (49 registrants) (Nov 2010)
  • Worked with UT graduate engineering class on an Energy and Greenhouse Gas inventory of City/County facilities and operations (Oct 2010 - Dec 2010)- presentation here.
  • Organized "Sustainable Channels" workshop (56 registrants) (September 2010)
  • Participated in the City of Toledo sponsored Frogtown Fair (August 2010)
  • Worked with Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and Lucas County Facilities to start a recycling program at Prosecutor's Office (May 2010)
  • Completed draft baseline recycling assessment of all County managed facilities (May 2010)
  • Completed a map of all LEED certified buildings in the Toledo area with assistance from the NWO USGBC and local architecture firms (April 2010)
  • Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, Lucas County Solid Waste District, and Facilities started recycling program at the Office of Aging (March 2010)
  • Worked with Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, Lucas County Solid Waste District, and Facilities to start recycling program at the Juvenile Justice Center (January 2010)
  • Coordinated Summer Edition of Living Green, Saving Green - working with local businesses and organizations(August 2009)
  • Submitted a grant proposal to the Ohio Environmental Education Fund focusing on energy efficiency and green building education (July 2009)
  • Worked with the Earth Avengers and Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful to start a building wide recycling program at Job and Family Services (May/June 2009)
  • Submitted three pre-application proposals to the Energy Efficiency Community Block Program (May 2009)
  • Assisted in coordinating the Winter Edition of Living Green, Saving Green (February 2009)
  • Built the Lucas County Green website (November 2008 - March 2009)

Here are some activites that we have ongoing:

  • Working with the University of Toledo Engineering Department to perform energy/waste audits of County buildings
  • Living Green, Saving Green presentations to interested area groups
  • Answering questions through the GreenLine and website
