The Toledo-Lucas County Sustainability Commission recently completed a series of organizational meetings. During the sessions, the group examined other sustainability initiatives across the country, reviewed public opinion research on sustainability, and developed a matrix of local sustainability issues.

The Commission has adopted a holistic model of sustainability, often referred to as people, planet, and profit or the "triple bottom line". Our subcommittee structure reflects the committment we have made to this model:

• Environmental Quality
• Socioeconomic
• Sustainable Energy

In addition to the above standing subcommittees, the Commission has two ad-hoc subcommittees: stimulus funding and stakeholder communication. These two groups work on an as needed basis.
