The Oak Openings Green Ribbon Initiative was established in 2000 to preserve, enhance, and restore critical areas in the Oak Openings Region of Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The plan is to conserve approximately 6,000 acres of high-quality, contiguous land running like a ribbon through the area.
