Waste Reduction and Recycling
  • ​Recycle paper, cardboard, and newspaper
  • Recycle glass, metal, and plastic
  • Recycle green waste (yard waste or organic waste)
  • Use electronic billing methods
  • Print double-sided copies
  • Reuse packing and shipping materials
  • Compost food waste
  • Collect rain water and water from dehumidifier for reuse

Green Purchasing
  • Buy products in bulk
  • Incorporate green building materials (in any remodeling, renovation, or construction of own facilities)
  • Purchase products from local vendors

Energy Efficiency and Conservation
  • Shut down computers when not in use
  • Use energy star products
  • Make sure lights are off when leaving the facility

Alternative Transportation
  • Plan delivery routes

Water Conservation and Pollution Prevention
  • Incorporate the use of native plants (milkweed)
  • Grey water usage

  • Use green storm water infrastructure (rain barrel, rain garden)
Staff Training and Public Awareness 
  • Establish employee green committee
  • Incorporate green awareness in to staff training and orientation
  • Offer customers green services or amenity options

Healthy Living
  • Consider dietary restrictions of employees and/or customers (have available vegetarian, vegan, gluten free food options)
  • Encourage living a healthy lifestyle
  • Offer healthy food selections to employees and/or customers
  • Provide healthy food options for company functions

  • Participates in local charitable events
  • Donates t-shirts which includes misprints that can be reused for alternative uses (bags, quilts)
